KyroIT · Research intelligence

Every database. Every journal list. One search you can defend.

Kyro Scholar runs a single query across Scopus, Web of Science, EBSCO Business Source, Dimensions, OpenAlex, Crossref and seven more, rates every hit against ABDC, AJG, FT50 and both quartile systems, and carries the results into a PRISMA 2020 or systematic-mapping review with the audit trail your methods section needs.

Six desks, one record of what you searched

Discovery, journal intelligence, systematic reviewing, manuscript preparation, the institution's publication record and research methods share the same databases, the same journal ratings and the same log.

Articles

One query across 13 databases, de-duplicated and rated against ABDC, AJG, FT50 and both quartile systems. Fielded search or a visual query builder; Ask a question splits a research question into aspects and runs Boolean strings per database. Full text through your library, exports to RIS, BibTeX and Excel, a citation in any style.

Journals

A journal by name or ISSN, every list's verdict side by side with quartiles per subject category and how a rating moved between editions. A topic keyword returns the journals that actually publish on it, ranked by recent articles, each with its ratings. Filter any list by tier, field and publisher.

Review workbench PRO

Protocol, exhaustive identification with a per-database search log, snowballing to closure, double screening with Cohen's kappa, AI-assisted structured extraction, PRISMA 2020 flow, a systematic-mapping conduct rubric, and the audit trail exported for the methods section.

Manuscript desk PRO

Upload a draft: formal checks, a journal finder ranked by scope similarity and rating, desk-reject risk for a chosen journal, one-click reformatting to the journal's rules in Word, a writing editor with rephrasing and inline citations, a simulated referee report, an AI-likelihood score, and a submission tracker.

Library desk PRO

The institution's publication record, harvested from OpenAlex, Scopus and Web of Science and verified journal by journal against Scopus, Web of Science, JCR, SCImago and DOAJ: quartile and indexing per paper, first and corresponding authors, retractions, open access and APCs, and the sheets NIRF, NAAC and rankings ask for.

Methods desk PRO

Quantitative: sample size and power, survey sampling and PLS-SEM, scale reliability and validity, and a dataset analysed with APA-ready sentences. Qualitative: a coding workbench with AI suggestions, Cohen's kappa, interview guides, Gioia and codebook exports. A method chooser and reporting checklists.

Built for the methods section, not just the reading list

Reviewers reject searches they cannot reproduce. Kyro Scholar records every string it ran, in every database's native syntax, with the count returned and whether retrieval was complete. Nothing is silently truncated to a top twenty.

Implements the systematic-mapping guidelines of Petersen, Vakkalanka & Kuzniarz (2015), snowballing after Wohlin (2014), and PRISMA 2020 reporting. The protocol, search log, screening decisions and extraction sheet export together as a report with appendices.
  1. 01

    Protocol first

Research questions, databases to be searched, inclusion and exclusion rules, known papers for validation and screening arrangements are recorded before a single search runs.

  2. 02

    Exhaustive identification

One query is translated to TITLE-ABS-KEY(…) for Scopus, TS=(…) for Web of Science and each other database's syntax, paginated to the last record, and logged. A coverage checklist shows which target databases are still missing. Exports from databases you searched by hand import with their strings.

  3. 03

    Snowball to closure

Backward references and forward citations of every included paper are pulled from OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar, Crossref and Scopus. Rounds repeat until a round adds nothing new, and every edge is kept for the PRISMA diagram.

  4. 04

    Screen with two reviewers

Blind independent votes at title-abstract and full-text stages, conflicts surfaced for resolution, and Cohen's kappa reported with the Landis and Koch band.

  5. 05

    Report and audit

PRISMA 2020 flow with the database and snowball routes, the search log as an appendix, the extraction sheet in Excel and a conduct rubric scored from the audit trail rather than self-reported.
